Relist Agent (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Software”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the application collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.

Important: Relist Agent is an offline, locally-run application. We do NOT send your data to external servers, and we do NOT collect usage data without your consent.

1. Information We Collect

eBay API Credentials

  • App ID, Dev ID, Cert ID (required to connect to eBay)
  • Auth Token (temporary access credential)
  • Status: Stored locally on your machine only. Never transmitted to our servers.

eBay Listing Data

  • Item IDs, titles, descriptions, prices, quantities
  • Shipping and return policy details
  • Images and product specifics
  • Status: Used only to relist your items. Stored locally in cache files. Not sent to external servers.

License Key

  • Unique activation key (provided at purchase)
  • Status: Stored locally in config file for offline validation.

Activity Logs

  • Relist operations (timestamps, item IDs, success/failure status)
  • Error messages and stack traces (for troubleshooting)
  • Status: Stored locally on your machine. Not transmitted unless you manually share logs for support.

Email Configuration (Optional)

  • Email address, SMTP credentials (only if you enable email reports)
  • Status: Stored locally. Not sent to our servers. You control if/when emails are sent.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information ONLY to:

  • ✓ Enable the application to function (connect to eBay, relist your items)
  • ✓ Generate activity logs for your records and troubleshooting
  • ✓ Send email reports (if you configured email notifications)
  • ✓ Validate your license key (offline, on your machine)
  • ✓ Display relisting status and inventory in the app interface

We do NOT:

  • ✗ Send your data to external servers
  • ✗ Collect usage analytics or telemetry
  • ✗ Track your activity or behavior
  • ✗ Share your information with third parties
  • ✗ Use your data for marketing or advertising
  • ✗ Access your eBay account without your knowledge

3. Data Storage & Security

Where Data is Stored

All data is stored locally on your machine in:

  • C:\Users\{YourUsername}\.relist_agent\ (Windows)
  • ~/.relist_agent/ (Mac/Linux)

Security Measures

  • Credentials: Stored in local config files (encrypted where possible)
  • eBay API communication: Uses HTTPS encryption (eBay → App)
  • Access control: Only the app and your user account can access the files
  • No cloud backup: We do not automatically back up or sync your data

Your Responsibility

  • Keep your machine secure (antivirus, firewalls, Windows updates)
  • Protect your eBay API credentials (do not share config files)
  • Back up your activity logs if they’re important

4. Third-Party Services

eBay

  • Relist Agent uses eBay’s Trading API to manage your listings
  • eBay collects your activity according to eBay’s Privacy Policy
  • We are not responsible for eBay’s data practices

Email Service

  • If you configure SMTP, your app sends emails directly via your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
  • Your email provider’s privacy policy applies to emails you send
  • We do not process or store email content

5. What About Updates?

When you download a new version of Relist Agent:

  • The app does NOT check for updates automatically
  • You manually check for updates via the “Check Update” button
  • No data is sent to our servers when you check for updates
  • Updates are downloaded from our GitHub releases page (public, no authentication required)

6. Data Retention

How Long We Keep Data

  • Activity logs: Stored indefinitely on your machine (you can delete them)
  • Config files: Stored until you uninstall the app
  • License key: Stored indefinitely (validates offline, never expires)

Deleting Your Data

You can delete all Relist Agent data by:

  1. Uninstalling the app
  2. Deleting the .relist_agent folder in your user directory

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all data stored by the app (it’s on your machine)
  • Delete: Remove the app and all associated files anytime
  • Control: Enable/disable email, logging, and other features
  • Transparency: Review this privacy policy and the app’s open-source code

8. Children’s Privacy

Relist Agent is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used this app, please contact us.

9. Privacy Policy Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
